Bike Livermore

The Bike Wine Tour

Livermore Valley is lucky to be the home of dozens of fine wineries - and nearly all can be visited by bike. Descriptions for several different, gentle wine tour bike routes can be found at Livermore Wine Trails. I'll provide a short description of a portion of one of our favorites - "The Burgundy Wine Trail."

  1. Stop 1: We like to start off at Wente Vineyards at 5050 Arroyo Road (about 1.7 miles past the intersection of Arroyo and Wetmore). [Open Daily 11-6:30] You can park here if you like and ride the rest!
  2. Start off heading back towards Livermore on Arroyo Road. There is no separate bike path here so you'll be sharing this sometimes-narrow country road with cars. At mile 1.7 you'll continue pass Wetmore Road on the left and now you'll have a nice bike path to ride on. At mile 2.4 you'll arrive at Stop 2 - Cuda Ridge Wines at 2400 Arroyo Rd. [Open Sat-Sun 12-4:30].
  3. Then, continue north on Arroyo Road. At mile 2.5 turn right (east) on Marina Ave where at mile 3.2 you'll arrive at Stop 3 - Rodrigue Molyneaux at 3053 Marina Ave. [Open Sat-Sun 12:30-5].
  4. Retrace your path west on Marina Ave. and south on Arroyo Rd. but now at mile 4.6 turn right (west) on Wetmore Rd. Continue on Wetmore until at mile 5.4 you reach Stop 4 - Dante Robere Vineyards at 1200 Wetmore Rd., (right across from the entrance to Sycamore Grove Park) [Open Fridays 1-5, Sat Sun 12-5].
  5. Continue northwest on Wetmore and turn left on Vallecitos Rd. at mile 5.7. At mile 6.0 turn right onto the appropriately named Vineyard Avenue. Continue on Vineyard just past Isabel Ave. and turn left into the driveway at mile 7.1 for Stop 5 - Ruby Hill Winery at 400 Vineyard Ave. [Daily 11-5].
  6. Turn left back on Vineyard to mile 8.0 and you find our last stop on your left. Stop 6 - Rubino Estates Winery at 1188 Vineyard Ave. [Open Daily 11-5:30].
  7. Retrace your ride back to your car at Wente for a total ride length of about 13.3 miles.

We recommend you ride safely and limit your wine tasting to little sips!
